Caleb Williams will be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears next season. We’ve known that for some time, and it will become official on Thursday. The only question that remains is who’s joining him? There’s a strong chance that Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze will be that guy, so it’s nice to see the two already pal-ing it up on the interwebs this week.
Potential Bears teammates Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze are already getting along well!
Williams and Odunze were rivals while the two were at USC and Washington in the Pac-12, but if things shake out the way I (and most) believe they will in two days in Detroit, they’ll be teammates in Chicago the next time they get on a flight.
Trust between a quarterback and a wide receiver is huge, so seeing that Caleb trusts Rome to pilot his flight to Detroit today is a step in the right direction.
I kid. Laugh. But seriously, I’m excited to see how Thursday night shakes out, and fun interactions from the prospects like this are a nice change of pace from the months-long mock draft mania that has consumed the football news cycle.
