The Kansas City Chiefs made a move up in the first round from 32nd overall to 28th overall. While it’s not necessarily shocking to see the Chiefs move up, seeing the Bills be their trade partner is a little bit surprising. The Chiefs have knocked out the Bills in the postseason in three of the past four seasons, so seeing Buffalo help out arguably their biggest rival in the AFC is a little bit of a stunner.
The Chiefs used the pick to select Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Worth set the NFL Combine record in the 40-yard-dash with a time of 4.21 seconds and had a fantastic year for the Longhorns. In return for the 28th pick, the Bills picked up the 32nd overall pick as well as Kansas City’s 3rd-round pick (95th) and 7th-round pick (221). Buffalo also sent their 7th-round pick (248) to KC as well.
I have to be honest. I love this move for KC and I HATE this move for Buffalo. The Bills needed a receiver badly, and Xavier Worthy felt like an absolutely perfect fit alongside Josh Allen. Now Worthy goes to the team Buffalo is chasing and gets to play with the best quarterback in the world. Time will tell how this pans out, but this feels like a head-scratcher for the Bills.
