DeMar DeRozan is almost 35 years old and led the NBA in minutes this season. I want you to remember that as you watch what you’re about to see.
The Chicago Bulls’ veteran forward was tearing apart the Atlanta Hawks in the first half of Wednesday night’s Play-in Tournament game. By midway through the second quarter, DeRozan had 18 points on 8-11 shooting, and this included an epic slam on the fastbreak.
After Ayo Dosunmu stuffed De’andre Hunter’s midrange attempt, DeRozan corralled the ball and pushed the tempo. Despite Javonte Green being slightly ahead of him, we watch DeRozan leave his feet for the thunderous one-handed jam.

The game still has a long way to go, but DeMar DeRozan is carving up the Hawks’ 27th-ranked defense. If he can help the Bulls pull this one out, they’ll head to Miami on Friday for a repeat of last year’s Play-In Tournament finale in the East.
