Angel Reese Scores New Career High to Finally Lift Sky Past Fever

Revenge tastes best on your home court.

The Chicago Sky finally took down the Indiana Fever after back-to-back losses earlier this season in Indianapolis. Even more exciting, they did it in front of a packed Wintrust Arena crowd behind a career-high performance from their emerging star.

Angel Reese Goes OFF

Angel Reese scored 25 points on 8-12 shooting from the field to finally beat rookie sensation Caitlin Clark at the WNBA level. She scored 10 of those points in the 4th quarter, where the Sky outscored the Fever 23-15 to pull off the 88-87 victory. Clark was held scoreless by the Sky defense for the final 7:12 of action.

The Sky’s No. 7 overall pick also added 16 rebounds to become the first rookie with 25+ points and 16+ rebounds since superstar A’ja Wilson in 2018, per ESPN. Reese has now recorded EIGHT straight double-doubles this season, which extends the WNBA rookie record she set last game.

Of course, Angel Reese didn’t do things alone. Chennedy Carter continued her outstanding play this season with 23 points on 8-12 shooting, while rookie Kamilla Cardoso posted 16 points with 10 rebounds. The Sky were down by as many as 15 points with 1:31 to go in the third quarter, but the team effort helped them pull off the thrilling comeback.

If you weren’t able to catch the full game, make sure to check out the highlights below. For a Sky squad that had lost four of its last five, this felt like the kind of confidence boost they needed, especially with two of the best teams in the league on the schedule next (Aces and Lynx).

The next Sky-Fever matchup is set for August 30th back at Wintrust Arena.
