Well there was one big thing not to like about tonight’s game – Cody Bellinger was lifted with a right rib contusion after colliding with the outfield wall – and about a million things that were great. And since we deserve great things, let’s set Bellinger aside as a tomorrow-problem, and just enjoy all the wonderful stuff about tonight’s game.
Of course, the absolute best part of tonight’s game was Jordan Wicks. The Cubs young left-hander didn’t just dominate, and he didn’t just dominate for six FULL innings (yeeeeeessss). He dominated for six full innings against the third best offense in MLB vs lefties. That is HUGE. He just keeps taking step after step after step forward this year, and impressing every second of the way.
Great win tonight, and a good way to kick off a series that ends with Justin Verlander on the mound. Go Cubs. Goodnight.
