What a road it’s been – continues to be – for Cubs outfield prospect Brennen Davis. The former top prospect was on a rocket ship to Triple-A in 2021, and then mostly lost the last two years to various injuries. Then, when he was set to have a hopefully-fully-healthy go at Triple-A this year, he hurt his arm at the end of Spring Training.
Finally, after a rehab stint in the lower minors, Davis is back at Iowa. And in his second at bat, he hit a 113.5 mph laser out to left:
It’s going to be a process for Davis from here, but man alive what a wonderful story it would be if he got himself back into a spot where he could come up to the big league team at some point in the near future. The 24-year-old still has significant potential.
