Earlier this year, we asked you guys who you’d want to see us partner with this season if you could pick any company or brand out there. And the No. 1 answer – BY FAR – was Old Style. And no surprises there, right?
A lot of us already have a pretty special connection to that particular beer, given our interest in the Cubs/Wrigley Field and Chicago sports, in general. It was a surprise, however, when Old Style actually reached out after seeing those comments to make it happen!
Old Style – The Official Beer of Bleacher Nation!
So in case you missed the news yesterday in Brett’s Cubs video and announcement, here it is: Bleacher Nation has an official beer, and it’s the one you already know and love … OLD STYLE.
I am back in Wrigleyville for my FIRST Cubs game of the year.
So let’s catch up and talk Cubs … with a bonus special announcement at the end of the vid. pic.twitter.com/JDFxIJYwP1— Bleacher Nation (@BleacherNation) June 18, 2024
And, hey, we’re 1-0 since Old Style became the official beer of BN. Just saying.
Old Style is BACK
But here’s something you might be wondering … I know Old Style has a long history with Chicago, Chicago sports, and specifically, the Cubs, but I haven’t quite seen it as readily available at Wrigley these past couple years.
That’s true. Old Style had been available at only a handful of locations inside the stadium this season (I think it got down to only 4 taps at one point), despite being one of the most prominent game day beers in the neighborhood/city. But that’s changed this season. This year, there are WAY more Old Style taps at Wrigley Field. Per the Cubs concession guide page, I count a total of 15 locations, with a total of 24 taps! Old Style is SO back.
In addition to the taps at Wrigley, Old Style can be found in four of the Wrigley Field rooftops, as well as in cans everywhere (duh!). They’re even breaking out Old Style Light, which my gut will appreciate by the end of summer.
So what does this mean for you? Well, for one, we’re going to give away a bunch of Old Style swag throughout the season to people using the hashtag #BNDrinksOldStyle (and other challenges/play-alongs/what-have-you). And they have a lot of really cool stuff. For another, we’re going to have multiple gameday watch parties in the Chicago-land area for both the Cubs and Bears, where the Old Style will be FLOWING.
So that’s it. That’s the news. Old Style and Bleacher Nation are officially dating. And I am absolutely stoked about it.
