Potential First-Round Targets for NYG
The Giants had a rough season in 2023 after making the playoffs in 2022 and winning a playoff game. Daniel Jones’ health is a concern but will the team go with a quarterback in the first round? The team also has needs at wide receiver and on the offensive line.
Wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU is a dynamic playmaker and could make an immediate impact for Jones on the outside. If the Giants are looking for more protection to keep Jones healthy, they can look at offensive tackle Joe Alt from Notre Dame.

2023 New York Giants Season Recap
After a strong 2022 season, the New York Giants went just 6-11 in 2023 as quarterback Daniel Jones battled injuries. Jones was just 1-5 in 6 games and was lost for the season with a torn ACL. Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito filled in going a respectable 5-6 as the Giants missed the playoffs.
The offense was near the bottom of the league as it ranked 30th in points and 29th in yards. Saquon Barkley was one of the lone bright spots on offense but he ran for just 962 yards and 6 touchdowns. The top pass catcher was Darius Slayton with 50 receptions for 770 yards.
The defensive unit wasn’t much better as it ranked 26th in points and 27th in total yards. Linebacker Bobby Okereke had 149 tackles and 4 forced fumbles to lead the defense while Xavier McKinney had 116 tackles and 3 interceptions at safety. 2022 first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux made a nice jump coming off the edge as he had 11.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 3 forced fumbles.
After a 1-1 start, the Giants lost 7 of their next 8 games which crushed any hopes of reaching the playoffs.
