The Miami Dolphins are poised for a pivotal offseason in 2024. They boast a young core with a bright future, but key departures on both sides of the ball have created some glaring holes. With just two picks over the first four rounds, the upcoming draft is a tricky one for Miami. They need to hit on their first two selections and find value late in the draft. Let’s check out their top 5 NFL Draft priorities.
Miami Dolphins Positions to Address in the NFL Draft
The Dolphins finished last season on a sour note losing three straight games, squandering the AFC East title, and getting dominated in the Wild Card round by Kansas City. This offseason has begun with the team bringing back most of their in-house talent and adding a couple of key contributors. Now their attention turns to the Draft where Miami will be looking to fill depth roles.
Interior Offensive Line
Despite finishing with the 2nd highest-scoring offense in the NFL, the offensive line was a major achilles heel for the Dolphins in 2023. Tua Tagovailoa was under constant pressure, with most of it coming up the middle. The team lost Robert Hunt in free agency and Connor Williams is still unsigned as well as being questionable after getting injured late in the season. Addressing both guard positions and their lack of depth at center is paramount.
Safety
The safety position has been reworked with the additions of Jordan Poyer and Siren Neal and the team returns Jevon Holland. None of these players are signed past the upcoming season and behind them is just waiver claim Elijah Campbell. the Dolphins would be wise to add a young, developmental player at safety and someone who could take over when these guys inevitably depart at season’s end.

Defensive Tackle
The departure of Christian Wilkins left a major void in the defensive line. One which Miami filled with the additions of four different veterans at the position. None of those players was signed past this year, and none provide the level of excellence that Wilkins offered. They need a disruptive force in the middle who can clog running lanes and be the future starter in the middle.
Miami Dolphins Offseason Additions
The offseason for the Miami Dolphins has been highlighted by the team bringing back the majority of their own free agents on offense. With the defensive side of the ball seeing the largest amount of roster turnover. See their most impactful offseason moves here.
