The Los Angeles Clippers were bounced in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs thanks to the Dallas Mavericks and now shift their attention to the offseason. Let’s look at the Clippers 2024 NBA Draft picks, future selections, and more.
Los Angeles Clippers 2024 NBA Draft Picks
The Clippers have just one selection in the 2024 NBA Draft and it’s in the second round. Their first-round selection belongs to the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to a trade.
No 1st Rounder for LAC in 2024
The Clippers traded away their 2024 first-round pick all the way back in 2019 in the blockbuster deal for Paul George. The deal included Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as well. The monster deal cleaned out LA’s draft picks including 1st rounders in 2022, 2024, and 2026.
The Clippers have nothing to show for it as they haven’t even reached the Western Conference Finals with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Now, the team has to figure out how to build without much draft capital.
Clippers Future Draft Selections
The Clippers have almost nothing to work with in the coming seasons thanks to trades that have given away almost all of their picks until 2030. Some of these picks are protected so they might get a few back but here are their current guaranteed picks for the next few years. Spoiler alert, it’s not good.

2030 | 2 | Own |
Have the Clippers Ever Had the No. 1 Pick?
The Los Angeles Clippers have had the number one overall pick three times in franchise history. In 2009, they selected Blake Griffin at no. 1 overall. Back in 1998, they took Michael Olowokandi at the top of the draft. In 1988, the Clippers selected Danny Manning first overall.
Blake Griffin spent 8 seasons with the Clippers averaging 21.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game with the team. He won the Rookie of the Year after missing his entire first season with an injury and made All-NBA four years in a row. He also added 5 All-Star selections with LA.
Danny Manning played 6 seasons in LA scoring 19.1 points and grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game. Michael Olowokandi played 5 seasons with the Clippers scoring 9.9 points and grabbing 8.0 rebounds per game.
LA Clippers Recent Season Results
The Clippers won 51 games in 2023-24 and hoping to make a playoff run with Paul George, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard. They were knocked out of the playoffs in the 1st round by the Mavericks and Kawhi Leonard was injured in the series playing just 2 games.
LAC has never played in the NBA Finals and the franchise has reached the Conference Finals just one time. That was in 2020-21 when Los Angeles was beaten 4-2 by the Phoenix Suns denying them a trip to the Finals.
Los Angeles has made the playoffs 11 times since the 2011-12 season but hasn’t been able to get over the hump. In the summer of 2019, LAC added superstars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard hoping to make a push for the team’s first title but it hasn’t worked out. Their time together has been filled with injuries and playoff collapses including blowing a 3-1 lead vs the Nuggets in 2020.
