Raptors Outside of Lottery in 2024
The Raptors earned the number 8 pick in the 2024 Draft Lottery but thanks to the Jokob Poeltl trade in February 2023, the pick now goes to the San Antonio Spurs. It works out nicely for the Spurs who have picks at no. 4 and 8 in the top 10 to add talent around Victor Wembanyama.
The Raptors on the other hand have the no. 19 overall pick and will have to draft well to add to a team that needs a huge boost in talent if it plans to make a playoff run next season.

Have the Raptors Ever Had the No. 1 Pick?
Since joining the NBA in 1995, the Toronto Raptors have only had the number 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft once. In 2006, the Raptors selected Andrea Bargnani first overall. Bargnani played 7 seasons in Toronto averaging 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
He finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting but never made an All-Star team. Bargnani’s best season in Toronto came in 2010-11 when he averaged 21.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Raptors Recent Season Results
The Raptors were just 25-57 in the 2023-24 season just 5 years after winning the 2019 NBA title. It was the first championship in franchise history for a team that joined the NBA in the 1995-96 season. Toronto beat the Golden State Warriors 4-2 in the 2019 NBA Finals with Kawhi Leonard winning the Finals MVP.
Toronto has reached the playoffs 13 times in franchise history and played in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2016 and 2019. In 2016, they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and in 2019, they beat the Milwaukee Bucks before beating the Warriors in the Finals.
Toronto had a stretch of seven seasons in which they reached the playoffs from 2013-20. They won 50+ games in the last 5 years of that run.
