It was a first-round exit for LeBron James and the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. The team has a huge offseason ahead and it starts with the 2024 NBA Draft. Take a look at the team’s draft picks, future selections, and more.
LA Lakers 2024 NBA Draft Picks
The Lakers get to keep their 2024 1st round pick thanks to the Pelicans passing on it until 2025. Take a look at the Los Angeles Lakers 2024 NBA Draft picks.
Lakers Keep 2024 1st Round Pick
The New Orleans had the rights to the Lakers 1st round pick in this year’s draft thanks to the Anthony Davis trade but have decided to defer the pick to next year. The Pelicans are likely thinking the Lakers could possibly lose LeBron James in free agency and end up with a better pick next year. James has a player option and can choose to become a free agent this summer.

Huge Offseason Questions in LA
It is going to come down to what LeBron James does this summer. He has a player option and can choose to opt out of his current deal with the Lakers. There is plenty of talk about him wanting to play with his son Bronny who has decided to remain in the 2024 NBA Draft.
It is possible we could see LeBron James jump ship to whatever team decides to draft his son in June. If LeBron James moves on, the Lakers will have tough decisions ahead as they are several key players away from competing in a loaded Western Conference.
Lakers Recent Season Results

The Lakers won their most recent title in 2020 in the bubble but haven’t been able to get back with two of their last three playoff appearances ending in first-round exits.
