Chicago Rapper Gets LeBron-to-the-Bulls Recruitment Started

Could LeBron James finally be coming to Chicago?!?!

Unfortunately, that’s still incredibly unlikely. But it won’t be without an effort from Chicago’s own Lil Durk!

The local rapper reached out to LeBron via Instagram and tried his best recruiting pitch to lure the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer to Chicago. His message was a simple one – money talks.

A “Lil” Offer For LeBron James

Lil Durk slid into LeBron’s DMs this morning and told him that he and his son Bronny should head to Chicago and that he’d even pay part of the salary if that’s what it took. Unfortunately, LeBron appears to be ghosting us.

LeBron is expected to opt out of his player option that would pay him $51.4 million next season. He can sign a max extension with the Lakers that would be worth just over $160 million over the next three seasons. So while James is expected to become an unrestricted free agent this week officially, it’s highly unlikely he will play anywhere but Los Angeles next season.

If Lil Durk’s offer to pay half the salary doesn’t quite get the job done, I’d like to chip in with a bonus of a dozen Do-Rite Donuts, a case of Old Style, and a large pizza – deep dish or thin crust – of LeBron’s choosing with however many toppings he wants. Can’t say I didn’t try!
