WATCH: Caleb Williams is Already Making Connections with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen at Halas Hall

Caleb Williams clips, however brief, will always grab my attention.

Because while I can tell myself over and over again that I will not get googly eyes over spring practice videos, the reality is that I can’t wait to see spring practice videos. Particularly ones from Halas Hall. And especially when they feature the Chicago Bears rookie quarterback throwing passes to DJ Moore and friends.

I am only human.

So if you were looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, here is 26 seconds of footage from the Bears that shows No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams slinging the pigskin to DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Velus Jones Jr. during a practice at Halas Hall:

Hook that sweet, sweet video content directly to my veins!

Caleb Williams and his new receivers are already linking up

To be clear, I don’t want to go overboard and try to make something out of nothing. However, I don’t want to entirely dismiss Caleb Williams and his teammates building chemistry with each other in the middle of May. After all, Bears fans should know how valuable extra work can be when players spend extra time linking up.

Do you remember how much Justin Fields and DJ Moore worked together last offseason? After an offseason trade, Moore arrived in Chicago making it known he wanted to help elevate the offense ASAP. Moore wasted little time getting to work with Fields last offseason and the two quickly became football besties. That connection flourished early in training camp last July, and that partnership bloomed throughout the regular season. The result was Fields posting a 129.5 passer rating and an 8-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio when targeting Moore last year. Not bad!

DJ Moore put up 1,109 receiving yards on passes from Justin Fields in 2023, averaging an impressive 11.0 yards per attempt. When you take into consideration Fields’ weaknesses and Caleb Williams’ strengths, it is easy to dream on Moore having a similar impact on the rookie QB.

It’s just practice gear, but seeing Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, and Keenan Allen in Bears uniforms is the kind of thing that makes me want to pinch myself in an attempt to make sure that this is a thing that is really happening. I know we’ve spent a bunch of time discussing how we’ve never seen a Bears rookie quarterback with Caleb’s résumé. But this franchise has never had a receiving duo as accomplished as Moore and Allen. And to think, Rome Odunze isn’t even part of this mix because he is nursing a hamstring issue.
