Oops! Patrick Kane Bought a $5M House In Lake Forest Just Before The Season

I know lot of us weren’t thrilled to see Patrick Kane wear a sweater that didn’t have the Blackhawks’ logo on it. We all knew he was entering the final season of his contract and a trade felt inevitable, but the reality and finality of the trade to the Rangers still hit hard.

He’s an icon, and to many fans it felt like he would never play for another organization.

It looks like Kane thought he’d be here longer-term, too. The now-former Blackhawks superstar reportedly bought a gorgeous, expensive home in Lake Forest just a few months before he was shipped to New York.

Kane’s son was born in Chicago and his girlfriend is from the suburbs. So it’s natural that he would want to buy something more permanent here.

Maybe… just maybe… this leaves the door open (pun intended) for 88 to come back as a free agent this summer? He’ll have a lovely home with a swimming pool waiting for him…
