Kevin Durant Has a Crush on the Bulls

When one of the best players in the game (and one of the best ever) gives your dynamic duo a stamp of approval, you know you’re doing something right.

Kevin Durant’s podcast The ETCs went live on Spaces (Twitter’s live audio service) to take questions from fans and talk all things NBA on Friday afternoon. Not before long, it appears the new era Chicago Bulls became a topic of conversation, and the two-time Finals MVP wasn’t shy about praising his fellow Eastern Conference team.

“Uhhh, yeah, what do you think,” Durant said when asked whether LaVine and Vucevic could be a quality pair. “Bro, when you got guys like them two – sh*t, I want to throw Coby White in there too because I feel like he is a apart of their future and he’s going to be the guy that’s the point – you got three guys that can get it from three levels on the court.

I don’t give a [expletive] what else you got, you got something with that. Two All-Stars at that, and one other guy – he’s a wildcard right now – but can go off crazy and get you 30 on any given night. When you got that on your team, that’s a great start.”

Okay, Kevin, fine. I guess you can come to Chicago too.

Damn, to hear Durant speak this positively about the Bulls as a whole is a pretty encouraging sign. No, I’m not saying we should begin to map out all the ways Durant can make his way to Chicago, but I do think his comments could tell us something about the Bulls improving reputation around the league. I mean, if one of the NBA’s biggest stars feels this way, who is to say others don’t too. And the more players that start to feel like something positive is happening in Chicago, the better chance the Bulls have at adding some serious impactful talent down the road.

Unfortunately, the entire interview has disappeared into the Twitterverse (their new audio feature doesn’t archive these live events), but someone grabbed a screen-recording of the Bulls section below, so make sure to check it out:
