The Chicago Bulls presumably began adding names to their training camp roster on Friday. According to the team, both Quenton Jackson and Max Heidegger have been signed to Exhibit-10 contracts.
Jackson joins the team after a rookie campaign spent with the Washington Wizards. The six-foot-five point guard went undrafted out of Texas A&M (Alex Caruso’s alma mater!) in 2022 before signing on with the Captial City Go-Go. In his 29 regular season games, Jackson averaged an impressive 15.5 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He also shot 53.5 percent from the floor, which eventually helped lead to the Wizards offering him a two-way contract in February.
While I’m not going to pretend like I know too much about Jackson’s game, I do know that the man can get up …
As for Heidegger, he continues to look for an opportunity in the NBA after going undrafted in 2020. He attended UC Santa Barbara and has played some Summer League action in the past, but he’s most recently spent his time playing for Saski Baskonia in the EuroLeague.
Heidegger – a six-foot-three guard – played four full seasons with UCSB, averaging 16.0 points in his senior season to help lead the Gauchos to a 21-10 record.
These should be just the first of several training camp signings to be announced in the coming weeks. The Chicago Bulls just announced this week that Media Day will take place On Oct. 2 before the team heads to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee for a week of remote training camp.
Exhibit-10 contracts do not count toward the salary cap during the offseason. For a lack of better words, these are basically “training camp deals.” The main perk is that the Bulls will have the upper hand in signing these players to their G-League roster once they’re waived. We’ve seen this happen recently with guys like Jevon Freeman-Liberty, Carlik Jones, and Ethan Thompson.
