The Chicago Bulls announced on Tuesday morning that Henri Drell signed a training camp contract. The 23-year-old forward from Estonia joined the Windy City Bulls during the 2021-22 season. He jumped from playing roughly 17.9 minutes per game in Year 1 with the franchise to 31.3 minutes last season.
Drell also recently competed with the Chicago Bulls’ Summer League squad in Las Vegas. Averaging just 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, he didn’t necessarily make the strongest impression, but he’ll now have another chance to catch the front office’s eye at training camp.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know everything about Drell’s game. But I have watched him a bit in the G-League and saw him in person at Summer League. I get the appeal. He can truly do a little bit of everything at six-foot-nine. His jumper is solid, he crashes the glass, he can handle it a bit, and he finished second for Windy in total steals and blocks.
While he doesn’t have one truly elite skill set, there is enough there to work with at a young age, which is why I’m not too surprised to see him get an invite. Plus, extending him this contract should allow the Chicago Bulls to lock him into another year in their G-League program.
Anyway, Drell appears to be the third training camp signing thus far. You can learn a bit more about the other two players here. Training camp is set to start on Oct. 3 in … *cartoonishly rubs eyes* … Nashville, Tennesse.
