NBA All-Star Game Voting is Open – Here’s What You Need to Know

NBA All-Star Weekend
NBA All-Star Weekend

NBA All-Star voting is now open!

Fans will be able to submit their ballots up until Jan. 20 at 11:59 p.m. CT. The big game is set for Sunday, Feb. 18 in Indianapolis at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Where to Vote?

Fans can vote for their favorite players on both the NBA App and at NBA dot com with a free NBA ID. As of now, you can submit one ballot each day on both platforms.

The league has announced six dates where a vote will count three times for one submission, including Dec. 25, Jan. 1, Jan. 5, Jan. 12, Jan. 15, and Jan. 19.

Who Can You Vote For?

Anyone!

Every single player in the NBA is eligible for an All-Star vote. The only thing to keep in mind is that these players are categorized loosely by position. Each ballot must include three frontcourt players and two backcourt players. Of course, players are also separated by Eastern and Western Conference.

How Much Does the Fan Vote Matter?

Keep in mind that fan vote accounts for 50 percent of a player’s final tally. The media and players then split the remaining 25 percent with one ballot submitted each.

We should also note that this upcoming round of voting ONLY accounts for the 10 starters. I feel like people forget this important detail every year, but an entirely separate round of voting is done exclusively by the NBA head coaches to decide the list of reserves. Is this my favorite policy? Eh, not particularly, but they do deserve a say when it comes to deciding the best of the best.

When Will NBA All-Star Rosters Be Announced?

After voting wraps up on Jan. 20, TNT will unveil the Eastern and Western Conference starters on Jan. 25. They will then share the reserves a couple of weeks before All-Star Weekend on Feb. 1.

So, again, you have just over one month to vote your little heart out! I know that here on Bleacher Nation, I’ll spend an unnecessary amount of time making a case for both Alex Caruso and Coby White. Do I know it will to a dead end? Of course! But if we even see one of their names on the voting updates that follow, I’ll consider that a success!
