Guess How Much the Latest Michael Jordan Card Sold For (Hint: It’s A Record)

Michael Jordan can’t stop breaking records.

The collectible marketplace Goldin sold a Jordan card for $2,928,000 this past weekend. This marks the highest all-time sale price for a Jordan card in history. The record sale price for any sports card still belongs to Mickey Mantle, per Spotrico, whose 1952 Yankees card sold for $12.6 million in 2022.

Michael Jordan’s Record-Breaking Card

So what made this latest card so special? It’s a one-of-one 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Jordan Logoman card that happens to be signed by the man himself. The jersey logo patch secured within the card is also from one of Jordan’s game-worn jerseys.

ESPN notes that this is the first Jordan Logoman Card to feature the legend in a Bulls uniform, which obviously adds to the prestige. I’m definitely surprised to see mint-condition rookie cards fall down the totem pole, but I can also understand the individuality of this specific card. There is only one out there in the world, and the fact it includes a jersey patch is certainly significant.

Indeed, let’s not forget that the highest-selling piece of sports merchandise is a game-used Jordan jersey. Back in 2022, Jordan’s jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for a staggering $10.091 million at Sotheby’s auction house.

I think it’s safe to say the price tag on Michael Jordan memorabilia isn’t going down any time soon. The further we get away from his playing career, the more legendary he seems to become. I guess that’s just what GOATs do!
