Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Signs Three-Year Deal With Magic

One of the bigger names of this free agency class is reportedly off the board. Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is signing a three-year deal worth $66 million with the Orlando Magic. The third year of that deal will reportedly be a player option.

Caldwell-Pope is a two-time NBA Champion. He won his first ring with the Lakers in 2020 and was also part of the Nuggets’ 2023 title team. He’s seemingly a perfect fit for Orlando – a wing with championship experience and the ability to score.

The 31-year-old veteran was briefly reported to be a target of the Bulls this off-season, but the fit never really made much sense as the Bulls were strapped for cap space and he was looking to get paid and contribute to a contender.

The move makes a lot of sense for the Magic and should help them take the next step in the highly competitive Eastern Conference.
