The WNBA Rookie of the Month for June plays for the Chicago Sky!
Angel Reese’s fantastic month is being recognized by the league, as she claimed Rookie of the Month honors for the first time in her young career. Reese averaged a double-double in the month of June with 14.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. She also recorded 10 consecutive double-doubles last month, as well as double-digit rebounds in all 11 Sky games in June.

Angel Reese Continues Impressive Rookie Season
Reese seemed to find her stride in the first full month of the WNBA season.
After an up-and-down start in May, she seemed to really settle in and establish her presence on the floor. And it showed on the stat sheet. Whenever you break a record set by the great Candace Parker, you’re doing something right and that’s exactly what Reese did last month. Her 10 consecutive double-doubles broke Parker’s record (nine games) for the longest such streak in WNBA history.
Reese and the young Sky are surely still figuring things out. However, Chicago’s young frontcourt tandem of Reese and Kamilla Cardoso gives the team reason for optimism going forward. Both have shown flashes of brilliance thus far in their careers. The two top-ten picks need to work on their consistency and efficiency scoring, but that’s not anything new for rookies. Each has shown how they can impact winning on both ends, which is all that truly matters this early in their careers.
With what we’ve seen from them so early on in their careers, the Sky really does seem to be the limit for them in Chicago. Get it?
