Watch Javy Baez and Willson Contreras Homer off Walker Buehler

Sorry! I missed the beginning of this game, so I’m catching up on some highlights, now that I’ve got it on. And what do ya know? Javy Baez and Willson Contreras have hit home runs!

Let’s check ’em out, starting with the first run of the game, a deep shot to left-center off the bat of Javy Baez:

And another angle:

That was Baez’s 17th home run of the season (it’s not even the All-Star break!) and the first hit of the game. It left the bat at 105 MPH and traveled 401 feet.

Next up was Willson Contreras, some five innings later, but also against Walker Buehler. This one counted for two runs and was an absolute no-doubter off the bat.

Another angle:

That’s home run number 13 for Contreras (leading NL catchers). It left the bat at 101 MPH and traveled 382 feet.

And remember, Walker Buehler is a good pitcher. Before tonight, he had allowed only 5 home runs to right-handed batters this season, all of whom are slashing .175/.213/.300 against him with a 28.1% strikeout rate.
