The Brewers Are Trading for Dallas Keuchel

I almost appended “in the year 2024” to the end of that headline, but I don’t want to get dunked on when it turns out that Dallas Keuchel has got it back. With the Brewers. Because of course that is gonna happen.

The Mariners are sending the formerly-excellent-recently-terrible lefty to the Brewers for cash:

Keuchel, 36, is on a minor league deal, so the Brewers don’t have to make room on their 40-man or 26-man rosters just yet. They can get a look at him for a bit, figure out if a big league run makes sense, and then pick and choose how they might deploy him. It’s a no-risk move, and for a team without a lot of starting depth, it makes sense.

Also, although Keuchel has been terrible in the big leagues the last few years and started this season out terrible at Triple-A, he’s apparently got on a bit of a run:
