Triple-A Iowa Cubs Prospects
The Iowa Cubs lost 9-7 to the St. Paul Saints. Trey Supak started the game and gave up four runs, three earned, in five innings. Frankie Scalzo Jr. took over for Supak in the sixth inning but gave up four runs, although three were unearned. Owen Caissie had a good game, going 3-for-5 with a triple and scoring twice. Moises Ballesteros continued his excellent form, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a walk, but also committed an error. Ballesteros is hitting .393 with a 171 wRC+ since being promoted to Triple-A.

Double-A Tennessee Smokies Prospects
The Tennessee Smokies were defeated by the Birmingham Barons 8-7, with Brandon Birdsell throwing five and two third innings and taking the loss. The Smokies rallied in the ninth inning, scoring six runs to take the lead, but ultimately lost the game on a walk-off two-run home run by Tim Elko.
Haydn McGeary hit a grand slam, his seventh home run of the season, and Matt Shaw had a strong performance, going 3-for-3 with a double and a sacrifice fly. James Triantos went 3-for-4 with two steals, and Kevin Alcántara returned to play center field but went 0-for-3 with a walk.

High-A South Bend Cubs Prospects
The South Bend Cubs defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-4 after scoring three runs in the top of the ninth inning. Starter Erian Rodriguez pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits. Yovanny Cabrera entered the game in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless inning and two-thirds to earn the win. Third baseman Rafael Morel had a two-out RBI single in the ninth and went 3-for-4.
Ed Howard added an RBI double in the ninth, and center fielder Brett Bateman went 3-for-5 with an RBI single in the eighth. Speaking of Ed Howard, he’s slashing .380/.430/.468/.899 with a 157 wRC+ since May 24.
