On the broadcast, Boog and J.D. noted that Michael Busch has now hit four first-pitch home runs this season, leading Major League Baseball. That’s pretty neat. His latest first-pitch homer, in the top of the first this afternoon, gave the Cubs an early 2-0 lead in Milwaukee.
That was Busch’s 10th home run of the season, which brings his overall slash line up to a very impressive .261/.355/.453 (130 wRC+). A lot has not gone right for the Cubs this season … obviously … but this trade for Michael Busch is looking like one of the better moves in a while.
