Nashville Superspeedway came alive this weekend with the curtain raising on the Ally 400. Practice sessions on Saturday saw Denny Hamlin emerge as a strong contender. His car displayed impressive speed, topping the charts in both practice sessions. Rookie hopeful Ty Gibbs also showed promise, putting down a fast lap in the second practice.

Qualifying on Saturday afternoon further solidified Hamlin’s dominance. He secured the pole position with a blistering lap in the final round, edging out local favorite Josh Berry for the top spot. Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson rounded out the top four, putting themselves in prime positions for a battle for the checkered flag come Sunday..

Ally 400 Odds

Qualifying results have shaken up the early Ally 400 odds. Denny Hamlin’s strong performance has solidified his favorite status, with some sportsbooks dropping his odds to as low as +325. Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, both qualifying well, have seen their odds tighten to around +400 and +800 respectively. Don’t count out local favorite Josh Berry though, his strong practice and qualifying runs have shortened his odds as well. See the entire Ally 400 odds board from DraftKings Sportsbook below.

Ally 400 Bets from Nashville Superspeedway

My perspective on the Ally 400 is a bit blurred, that can happen when in Vegas, but I’m not confused by the following bet. Check out the matchup I’ve doubled down on from pre-practice.

Ty Gibbs -135 Over Brad Keselowski (Bet365)

Of all the matchups I’ve bet this week, and there have been a lot with me in Vegas, this one takes the cake for my favorite. Gibbs has fallen in line with the rest of JGR and Toyota at these high-speed tracks and has been incredibly fast. He has a 5th place finish at Las Vegas, finished 10th at Dover, and led 74 of the 249 laps in Charlotte finishing 6th there.

Keselowski has had his moments in 2024, like winning at Darlington, but outside of his good run at Charlotte where he finished runner-up, he hasn’t been incredibly fast at these types of tracks. In fact, Gibbs has better speed rankings at 4 of the 5 high-speed intermediates, with a better finish at the most similar track of Dover as well.

I’m not sold on RFK’s long-run speed this weekend while I know what JGR can bring to the table at these types of tracks. Gibbs finished just 3 spots behind Brad last year in his first Cup start in Nashville and that was Keselowski’s first finish inside the top 20 here. Give me the kid to beat the old guy this week.
