Boston Celtics 2024 NBA Mock Draft—The NBA is changing things up this year with a revamped draft format for the 2024 season. This year’s 78th annual draft will be spread over two nights, a first since the league standardized the draft to two rounds in the late 1980s. Previously held in a single-night spectacle, the draft will now take place on June 26th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for the first round, followed by the second round on June 27th at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan.
The second round will also see an extended time allotment between picks, with a shift from two minutes to four. Continuing a trend from the past two years, the draft will feature 58 picks instead of the usual 60 due to tampering penalties levied against the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s likely the motto for Brad Stevens and the Celtics front office this offseason. With most of the core under long-term contracts, the offseason focus will likely be supplementing the roster with high-upside depth that can learn from the veteran stars on the roster.

There’s not a clear need on the roster, and anyone needed for next year’s rotation will likely come via a cheap free-agency signing, so the first-year expectations will be low for whoever they select in this year’s draft. Last year’s first-round pick, Jordan Walsh, appeared in just nine regular season games this season. He cut his teeth on Boston’s G League team in Maine, and this selection will likely do the same for the 2024-2025 season.
Boston Celtics 2024 NBA Mock Draft – Pick No. 30
Cameron Christie – Minnesota
Position: SG
Size: 6’6″, 190 lbs
Age: 18
Nationality: American
Pro comparison(per The Ringer): Alec Burks
Cam Christie is a name that’s gaining momentum. He’s using the pre-draft process to showcase his NBA range and shot-making abilities. Christie, brother of Lakers guard Max Christie, has demonstrated an impressive ability to create his own shot off the dribble while also excelling at shooting off the move in catch-and-shoot situations.
Christie is a smooth athlete who’s comfortable with the ball in his hands. His ball-handling skills are solid but should improve at the next level, and he makes sound decisions when initiating offense. These are scalable and translatable NBA skills and will likely only improve as the 18-year-old Christie matures.
His length will help defensively, and if he continues to grow and eventually adds muscle to his lean frame, you can start to see why teams late in the first round would be interested in him as a draft and stash prospect.
