Timberwolves 2024 NBA Draft Picks

The Timberwolves have two selections in the 2024 NBA Draft. Take a look at when they will be picking the draft in June.

Anthony Edwards was stellar in leading the Timberwolves in a 4-3 series win over the Denver Nuggets to boot the reigning NBA Champs out of the playoffs. Edwards scored 27.7 points per game in the series to lead the T-Wolves within one step of the NBA Finals.

Then, reality hit hard in the Western Conference Finals as the Timberwolves had no answer for Kyrie Irving or Luka Doncic. The Mavs beat up the T-Wolves in a 4-1 series victory.

    T-Wolves Future Draft Selections

It is not looking good in terms of draft picks for the Timberwolves in the next few years. Trades have severely diminished the amount of 1st round picks. Check out what the team has in draft capital in the next few years.

Have the Timberwolves Ever Had the No. 1 Pick?

(Minnesota took Towns no. 1 in 2015. Photo by: Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports)

The Timberwolves have had the no. 1 overall pick twice in franchise history. In 2015, they selected Karl-Anthony Towns out of Kentucky. In 2020, Minnesota drafted Anthony Edwards no. 1 overall out of Georgia.

Towns has played 9 seasons in Minnesota averaging 22.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He was the 2016 Rookie of the Year and has made the All-NBA Third Team twice. Edwards has spent four years in Minnesota scoring 22.9 points per game while making two All-Star teams. He was also named Second-Team All-NBA for the 2023-24 NBA season.

Edwards showed his star potential in the 2024 playoffs as he scored 27.6 points per game while grabbing 7.0 rebounds and dishing out 6.5 assists. He shot 48.1% from the field and 40.0% from downtown.

    Recent T-Wolves Season Results

The Timberwolves joined the NBA in 1989 and have only been out of the 1st round of the playoffs twice. In 2023-24, the team enjoyed one of its best years in franchise history as the T-Wolves won 56 games and reached the Western Conference Finals for the second time in history. The season ended in a 4-1 series loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Timberwolves were also able to reach the Western Conference Finals in 2003-04 led by MVP Kevin Garnett. The Timberwolves lost that series 4-2 to the Los Angeles Lakers. Check out the Timberwolves team history and results.
