Philadelphia 76ers Draft Picks: List of 2024 and Future Draft Selections

The Philadelphia 76ers found themselves with a first-round exit in the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs. Next up is the 2024 NBA Draft as Philly hopes to add more pieces around Joel Embiid to make a run at the NBA Finals. Check out the 76ers draft picks, future selections, and more.

Philadelphia 76ers 2024 NBA Draft Picks

Philly finds itself with two draft picks this year. Their first-round pick is at no. 16 overall. Check out the team’s selections in 2024.

  • 1st Round: No. 16 – Jared McCain – PG (Duke)
  • 2nd Round: No. 41 overall
  • 76ers Just Outside of Lottery in 2024

The 76ers have the 16th overall pick and sit just outside of the lottery in this year’s draft. Philly will have to add quality players with their two picks in this draft because they have loads of off-season questions to answer. First, they will likely lock up Tyrese Maxey to a long-term deal worth a huge amount of cash.

In terms of free agents, Tobias Harris, Buddy Hield, Robert Covington, Mo Bamba, and Cameron Payne are just a few of several players with expiring contracts.

    76ers Future Draft Selections

The 76ers currently have zero draft picks in 2025 thanks to the Thunder having rights but there are protections 1-6 which is unlikely to come into play. Moving forward, Philly has two first-round picks in 2028 and 2029. Take a look at the future draft selections for the Philadelphia 76ers.

    Recent Season Results for Philly

The 76ers have reached the playoffs every year since the 2017-18 season but don’t have much to show for it. Philly has yet to reach a Conference Finals and was knocked out in the 1st round in the 2024 playoffs.

In the early 2000s, the 76ers made a run to the NBA Finals with the help of Allen Iverson but they lost the 2001 NBA Finals 4-1 to the Los Angeles Lakers. The 76ers do have three championships in franchise history. They won the 1955 when they were the Syracuse Nationals before becoming the Philadelphia 76ers in 1963. They went on to win the 1966 and 1983 NBA Finals.

The 1983 championship team defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 led by Moses Malone and Julius Irving. Malone won the 1983 NBA Finals MVP. He was also the regular season MVP that season. Check out the season results for Philly in the last 30 years.
