Orlando Magic Draft Picks: List of 2024 and Future Draft Selections

The Orlando Magic were back in the playoffs in 2023-24 and have a young core to be excited about moving forward. Now, they focus on the offseason and adding some talented players to get them deeper into the playoffs. Check out their 2024 NBA Draft picks, future selections, and more.

Orlando Magic 2024 NBA Draft Picks

The Magic have two selections in the 2024 NBA Draft. They will pick at number 18 overall in the 1st round. Check out their selections for this year.

  • 1st Round: No. 18 – Tristan Da Silva – SF (Colorado)
  • 2nd Round: No. 47 overall
  • Magic Have Two 1st Rounders Next Year

The Magic are in the middle of the first round in this year’s draft but next year they own two first-round picks. This is thanks to the Aaron Gordon trade with Denver. The pick is a top-5 protected pick. Regardless, it gives the Magic some flexibility in working out a trade or adding more depth to work alongside Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.

Recent Season Results for the Magic

(Paolo Banchero took a major step forward in 2023-24. Photo by: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports)

After missing the playoffs for three straight seasons, the Magic reached the postseason in 2023-24 after going 47-35. The team lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 7 games but the future looks bright with All-Star Paolo Banchero leading the team. He was the 2022-23 Rookie of the Year after being the No. 1 pick. He has quickly developed into a potential superstar.

Orlando had some struggles from 2012-23 as they reached the playoffs just two times during that stretch. This was after the team moved on from Dwight Howard who helped lead the team to the 2009 NBA Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals in 2010.

After joining the NBA as an expansion team in 1989, Orlando was able to reach the NBA Finals in 1995 with the help of Shaquille O’Neal and Anfernee Hardaway. They lost to the Houston Rockets in 4 games. After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 1996, the team let Shaq walk in free agency while injuries heavily impacted Hardaway’s career.

Take a look at the season results for the franchise since joining the league in the 1989-90 season.
