The San Francisco 49ers looked like they were going to cruise after they scored with ease on their first drive of the game to go up 7-0 over Cleveland. But the Browns have made this one more interesting than we imagined and now San Francisco is dealing with some key injuries with Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams questionable to return.
All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams had his ankle rolled up and is dealing with an ankle injury. He’s questionable to return. Wide receiver and do-it-all offensive weapon Deebo Samuel is dealing with a shoulder injury. Samuel was seen heading to the 49ers locker room to be evaluated.
Both Samuel and Williams were in the middle of a pregame skirmish between the two teams near the sideline. San Francisco has had the good fortune of health this season, so losing two key players on offense will be a test for them today against a Browns team that isn’t rolling over for the undefeated 9ers this afternoon.
UPDATE: Trent Williams has returned to the field for the 49ers on their current drive. Deebo Samuel is still in the locker room and questionable to return.
UPDATE: Deebo Samuel will not return to today’s game with a shoulder injury. The 49ers offense is struggling for the first time this season against the Browns defense and now they’ll have to overcome a strong performance by Cleveland without their top play maker.
This is a devloping story and we will provide updates as they become available!
